So much has happened in the last few months. When ThinkerSpace.us was created this space was just a dream. A quick few notes on paper and an outline of what we wanted to offer the community was presented to the board of the organization we intended to rent from.
The day after getting assigned our room, with the help of a few friends we were able to get the room cleaned out and a basic layout set up.
It took another week or two to get everything prepped for the laser engraver and to slowly move up the rest of the equipment and supplies.
Next we focused on the infrastructure, getting the network back up and running, the equipment all cleaned, prepped, and the systems checked and configured. A lot of the equipment and supplies were coming straight out of storage or nestled in nooks and crannies of our home business. The 3D printer on the other hand was a brand new addition and was still in the box when we transported it to the center.
So far we have hosted several meetings at the center already to discuss how we can benefit our community. We are looking to soft launch this September with our first groups coming to train the first week of the month. We would be glad to have you stop in and check out the space!
